Contractor bill › Next and final bill
From one RA bill to the next, and the final bill
The hardest part of RA bills is keeping "previous" quantities right month after month. Let the maker do it.
Next RA bill in one tap
- Open Saved RA bills and find the last bill of the work.
- Press Next RA bill. Every item’s up-to-date quantity becomes its previous quantity, this-bill quantities are cleared, the RA number goes up by one and the period starts where the last ended.
- Type only the quantities measured since, and save.
Keep within the BOQ
When an item’s up-to-date quantity goes above its BOQ quantity, the line is marked and the maker asks before saving. Extra quantity usually needs a variation or extra-item approval from the client; get it in writing first.
The final bill
- Tick "This is the final bill": the title prints FINAL BILL.
- Check that up-to-date quantities match the final measurement.
- Ask for the retention release as the contract allows, often after the defect liability period, with a separate request.
Keep the records
Keep every RA bill with its measurement sheet and the client’s payment advice. A backup file of your data (My data › Save a backup file) keeps all bills of all works in one place.
